Website 2024 - Proposal:
The current website structure was dicussed in two meetings. It was agreed a new website should be user
friendly and have an easy navigation. Based on the results I created a proposal for a new a design and
within of a couple clicks the visitor can get faster to the content within of the website.
Also I was analyzing of the current structure and have found some points of improvement.
The proposed structure is described in the Excel Sheet
Considerations regarding the securing of the Links of MNGS2.ORG. Currently the website
is accessible from the internet, there are a couple of links only accessible from the
Library. During the assessment I found that there are on the website of mngs2.org files and
databases stored.
There are two options to solve the problem with the link http://www.mngs2.org/patron.html.
1st Solution:
Change the web website from an unsecured to a secured one. This would require that links of the
site http://www.mngs2.org/patron.html and the subsites needed to be checked and adjusted.
2nd Solution
Install a workstation with enough disk space (the requirement is Windows 11 Pro, as this version of
Windows would allow to run a webserver. This workstation would be installed at the MGC, with an
external hard drive for backing up. Instead of an hard drive a Network Attached Storage (NAS) could
be used for backup purposes. The advantage of this solution is that the data is not accessible from
outside of the network of the MGC.
